We took an hour-long train ride out to the coast for a little retreat from the big city and immediately fell in love with Brighton the moment we left the station out into town. We stayed in a cute little hotel right by the water and would start every day at the playground just a couple of steps away. Each day, we aimlessly strolled, making random stops that interested us along the way. Fish and chips were on the menu every day, along with the inevitable sweet treats of travel.
We spent an entire afternoon at the Brighton Pier, where Margot and Matt played arcade games and a nice stranger gave Margot a Peppa Pig doll that she'd won. It was the sweetest thing. We also payed a visit to "Brighton's Taj Mahal", the Royal Pavilion, which was used as a vacation home for royalty. Unfortunately, photography wasn't allowed in the building, so I didn't see any point in touring the inside. But no matter...there was a beautiful lawn surrounding the Pavilion, where tons of people sat and relaxed, and where Margot danced to music by a busking duo playing the sax and steel drums (see video below!).
We didn't spend much time here—just 3 days—but we had a lot of fun, taking our time and hanging out.
