I've been experiencing more bad hair days than good lately, so I've taken to wearing hats most days. They're quick to hide the limp mess happening underneath and, at the same time, bring a little style to some of my more simple/comfortable outfit choices.
A problem I run into with a lot of new hats is they usually fit a tad too big—so big that they've nearly blown off during strolls. Mama won't be made a fool chasing after her hat down the sidewalk, so I do this little hat tightening trick to every one I own! Thought I'd share this super easy DIY for those with the same problem.
What You'll Need:
+ Foam/Weather Stripping Tape (I used this)
+ Your big hat
+ Measure out a piece of foam tape the length of the sweatband on the inside of your hat.
+ Cut off a little more than the length of the sweatband, just in case.
+ Place the foam tape at the very base of the sweatband, where it meets the hat, and remove the tape's backing a bit at a time as you work your way around.
+ Double up your foam tape as needed.
TA DA! The hat fits!
