Our Family Trip - Paris Part I
After a couple of days exploring in Amsterdam, we head out by train to Paris. Number one reason I'd live in Europe: everything is close by. Our ride took only 2 1/2 hours or so—just the perfect amount of time before a toddler starts to lose her patience!
Sam and Adam would coincidentally be in Paris on the weekend of our stay, so we checked out most of the touristy things with them. Our diet consisted mainly of bread, cheese and meat, with the daily morning (afternoon and night) croissant and assorted sweet pastry. We stayed in the beautiful neighborhood of Montmartre, a predominantly french-speaking area where the buildings were picturesque and the streets' hills were steep. Unfortunately, after our first night spent exploring, Margot woke up with a horrible flu that got progressively worse for up to 3 days. We kept things pretty low key and even stayed in an entire day to keep her away from the cold. But we were still able to stroll around and check out the food markets and cool places Paris had to offer.
Margot was a trooper most days, despite her sickness, and though it did put a little bit of a damper on our visit to Paris, we still were able to create some beautiful memories on our first big trip together.
